Centripetal Acceleration Application

Answer the following questions. Mark on the screen. You may change
your mind and re-mark before you hit the "grade test" button.

#1 An object moves in a circular path of radius 10 m with a constant speed of 30 m/s. What is the magnitude of the acceleration?

#2 You pull out of a dive by traveling in an arc of radius 300 m. At the bottom of the circle, your speed is 180 km/h. What are the direction and magnitude of your acceleration?

#3 In the movie 2001: A Space Odyssey, the space station was circular, and it was spinning to produce an artificial gravity. If the space station had a radius of 100 m from the center to the outer floor, how many revolutions per minute (RPMs) would it have to spin to produce an artificial gravity on its outer floor of 1 G?
