Fundamentals of Sound Reinforcement |
|
June 3 - 7, 2002 |

A hands on workshop covering "how to" issues in live sound. Join us at the campus of Idaho State University in Pocatello for a week of exploring topics in professional sound reinforcement. This event is designed for sound reinforcement techs, a/v techs, musicians, retailers, and anyone else who wants to learn, or to learn more about how to reinforce sound for live events. This course will provide an extensive opportunity to work in with professional sound reinforcement systems.
We cover all of the fundamentals of acoustics and electronics. No extensive prior knowledge or experience is necessary to attend this course. The setting is relaxed and collegial. It is our strongly held belief that professional sound reinforcement is an endeavor in which the sharing of experience is essential for personal growth. All attendees are encouraged to actively participate in the exchange of ideas in each session. Lively, informed discussion (and the occasional friendly debate) are PSSI trademarks.
Monday through Thursday of the workshop week are occupied by seminars on the topics outlined below. Friday is traditionally a day in which we engage in a recreational group activity. There will be optional opportunities evenings during the conference and the closing weekend to participate in live sound activities in venues near Pocatello.
