Burning a Candle at Both Ends

PIRA 6A20.32

Trim a candle so that wicks extend from both ends.  Try to makethe ends as identical as possible.  Bend one wick up and the otherdown, and clamp the candle horizontally at the center of curvature of aspherical mirror.  Light the upturned wick, and the real image ofthe flame will be visible on the other wick.

Be sure to lay a piece of paper or a towel below the candle to catch melted wax.
