Two or Three Light Bulbs in Series

The apparatus for this experiment is shown above. It consists of three light bulbs connected in series with a switch to close the circuit before the third light bulb.

The next two pictures show the light bulbs when the power is turned on. The first picture is with the switch open, and the second with it closed. PLEASE USE CAUTION WHEN USING THIS APPARATUS! It is powered by wall current and has several locations where the wire/connections are exposed.
