The Search for Exotic Mesons

Abstract:
The theory of strong interactions (QCD) requires the existence of bound states which include valence gluons.  We will review the classification of those "exotic" states within the framework of the Standard Model.  We will describe the methods used in the search for new short-lived particles as well as the results from some recent experiments.
