Stars and nuclear weapons are complex systems, as are the numerical models describing these systems. The accuracy of these models can be tested in many ways. In this talk, I will discuss using nuclear reaction networks as a diagnostic tool in astrophysics and weapons design, including how cross sections for reactions on radioactive targets are calculated.
