A Consensus Scientific View of Past, Present and Future Climates

Dr. Eric Grimsrud
Emeritus Professor of Chemistry
Montana State University

In this presentation, the three basic forces that determine the average temperature of the Earth will first be described.   Then the climates of various periods during  the past 65 million years with an emphasis on the last 150 years will be assessed in terms of these forces. Armed with the information thereby obtained, speculations concerning the next 100 years and the next 10,000 will also be offered.  Our choices for avoiding potential detrimental outcomes of future climate change will then be discussed
