A brief history of the RPS program at INL as well as the design criteria of radioisotope heat sources will be presented.  Assembly and fueling of  future space power generators will be discussed.  An overview will be provided of the design, fabrication and qualification of the structural components of the multi-mission radioisotope thermoelectric generator (MMRTG) that is currently powering the Mars Science Laboratory (MSL) rover, Curiosity.
