A nuclear model taking advantage of a picture complementary to the well-established
liquid (liquid drop model) and gas (independent particle model) ones will
be discussed. Within this model the nucleus is a crumble of nuclear matter
with long-range order typical for a FCC (face-centered cubic) crystal.
