The U.S. Army has unique health physics challenges when supporting Soldiers during war, contingency operations, or security operations during the rebuilding process. Although Medical Health Physics in a hospital has its own challenges and requirements we use these challenges as a training ground for our Health Physics Officers in preparation for deployments. This presentation will outline the process and highlight some of the unique health physics issues we have dealt with in current conflicts. While the briefing is not classified it will cover areas not commonly available to the public.
